Senior Network Engineer

Cincinnati, OH

6 Month Contract (possibility of extension)

Onsite or Remote

$65-$75/hour W2

 

This role may include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new networks, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the local and wide area networks within the system network to ensure maximum up time for users
  • The network engineer is a highly technical resource with technical knowledge beyond the scope of simple network environments
  • Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
  • Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
  • Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
  • Key contributor in the definition and creation of new tools and automation capabilities driving software defined solutions to improve outcomes and system agility
  • Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Level 3 technical support when required

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in WAN/LAN/Security engineering
  • Degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field
  • CCNA or Higher; CCIE and/or CISSP Certification PMP certification, or Quality Certification (Six Sigma) a plus – CCIE highly preferred
  • LAN, WAN, Network Services, Network Protocols, Network Security -- Senior (mastery)
  • Communication - Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact with all IT team members
