Sr. Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Manager

 

Work Location: Cincinnati, OH - Candidates MUST be willing to relocate to Cincinnati, OH once COVID restrictions are lifted. Candidates must relocate at their own expense

 

Duration: 3+ Months (due to fiscal year end) but role will continue in 21/22.

DESCRIPTION:

• New position requiring experience in paid search engine marketing
• Role will join eCommerce team which is focused on performance marketing and responsible for sales on .com and at our eRetailers.
• Will manage paid search campaigns across google/bing/e-retail (amazon, Walmart, Target, etc) and identify/execute optimization to drive sales successfully within KPIs
• Develop and implement Paid Search campaigns, strategies and initiatives in Search Engine Ad Platforms (Google, Bing) and across eRetail Search Platforms (Criteo, Walmart Media Group, Amazon Marketing Services, etc)
• Create and manage campaign plans, forecasting trends, budget planning, pacing and advanced optimization techniques
• Analyze key KPIs (sales, conversions, clicks, CTR, SOV, CPC, etc) to formulate insights and translate to actionable next steps to optimize performance.
• Conduct keyword research and develop keyword and content recommendations
• Evaluate diagnostic metrics to determine optimizations needed to improve performance including ad group and keyword adjustments, negatives, copy, landing page selection and copy, etc.
• Conduct Search query mining to optimize keywords and negatives to improve performance
• Setup/optimize search bid/campaign management in native tools as well as platforms such as Doubleclick, Marin, Kenshoo, etc
• Identify campaign expansion and testing opportunities to increase performance
• Problem solve issues related to search campaigns such as trafficking and tagging
• Provide advanced analysis and reporting on paid search campaigns
• Discover competitive gaps and provide recommendations to improve
• Monitor industry news, trends, and shifts to align with evolving Search Engine Marketing strategies
• Communicate with other marketing teams to align and improve over-arching digital strategy and work with web developers and marketing teams to properly implement search best practices

REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years of experience as Search Engine Marketing Manager or similar role
• Expertise across all search ad types including text ads, shopping ads, display ad, dynamic ads, etc
• Expertise with performance/conversion-based search KPI optimization for DTC websites
• Google Ads, Google Ads Editor, and Google Analytics expertise is essential
• Amazon Marketing Services expertise is essential particularly Amazon Search
• Criteo Ad platform experience

SKILLS:
• Must have strong analytics/insights capability (and with associated tools like Excel, Power BI, Knime, Google Data Studio, etc)
• Must have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong collaboration & communication/interpersonal skills essential
• Must be a self-starter taking proactive initiative to achieve objective
• Must have strong sense of ownership and pride in performance
• Must have advanced Proficiency with MS Office tools: word, ppt, and especially excel

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree Ideally in IT related field but any degree ok if relevant industry experience.
