Summary: We have an awesome opportunity with one of our favorite, well-known clients right outside of Uptown Charlotte who has been around for 80 years! They are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team and eventually grow into an Accounting Manager role! The ideal candidate will have accounting experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods or Retail industry, as this role will involve heavy accounting and analysis around Trade Spending, involving collecting sales and deducting trade spend based on volume sold. This role also will involve traveling 20-40% travel to Winston Salem (only 1.5 hours away) 1-2 days a week or this person could sit in Winston Salem if they choose. Location: Can sit in Charlotte, NC (traveling to Winston 1-2 days a week) or Winston Salem, NC - Currently REMOTE due to Covid!
Compensation: Targeting $85,000-90,000 + 5% bonus, but may pay up to 100,000 based on experience (Will also help with relocation fees!)
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for certain aspects of the financial close and financial reporting process including but not limited to preparing journal entries/accruals, analysis and reconciliations.
- Support the month end financial reporting deliverables including cash flow reporting and disclosure requirements.
- Perform a deep dive analysis on the company’s current trade practices.
- Collect sales data and make deductions on trade spend based on volume sold, by calculating discounts, etc.
- Support the monthly Income Statement and Balance Sheet Flux analysis.
- Analyze promotional results and develop key insights on promotional effectiveness to help drive revenue.
- Understand new contract negotiations - fixed and variable spending (e.g. OI’s, program commitments).
- Track and record revenue & trade spending (Forecast/ LE Process).
- Assist in the creation and deployment of controls needed to ensure global financial compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Consumer Package Goods (CPG) or Retail industry experience
- Knowledge or experience with trade spending as in collecting sales and deducting trade spend based on volume sold
- Large ERP system experience (Oracle, SAP, etc.) preferred.
