Senior Release Engineer - IT

CRG has launched a search for a Senior IT Release Engineer for a world-class food service provider headquartered in the Charlotte, NC area! This company has a state of the art technology suite and top notch technology stack. The Senior Release Engineer will be tasked with the duties of CI/CD Automation, Software Release Engineering and Release Management. Day to day activities will include such things as designing and implementing software deployment automation, coordinating and planning releases, managing and administration of productivity tools, and working with Development and Infrastructure teams. Other activities include leading the team in technology and process improvements, designing effective procedures, managing technical debt and risks associated with application maintenance.


Location: Remote (needs to be in Charlotte area)

Duration: 1 year contract

  • Interact with product management, project management and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project cycles and release management objectives
  • Design, create and automate CI/CD processes and procedures that meet the needs of the projects
  • Use existing tools and techniques to engineer and execute application maintenance activities
  • Identify root cause and solutions to issues found in the CI/CD process
  • Manage application releases and maintenance
  • Conduct release planning sessions
  • Conduct post mortem sessions to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in identifying and troubleshooting of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
  • Install, configure, administer and maintain CI/CD, Configuration Management and Release Management tools
  • Identify new automation procedures to streamline the CI/CD processes
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in CI/CD, Configuration Management and Orchestration spaces


  • 6+ years of experience with enterprise Application Development Lifecycle and Release Management
  • 5+ years of experience with CI/CD, Source Code and Artifact Management tools such as Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, TFS, SSM, Azure DevOps or similar tools and technologies
  • Must have experience with Monitor Tool (ex: Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, etc.)
  • Familiarity with build and dependency management tools such as MSBuild, Maven, or NPM
  • Self-motivated team player who can work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Programming experience especially with scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Powershell, Groovy, or Python and also SQL commands and scripting
  • Exposure to WebSphere
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills
  • Must be able to rapidly deliver results and possess the ability to catch on quickly to new ideas and technologies
