Business Data Analyst

Location: Alpharetta, GA

Duration: 3 month Contract to hire

Salary: $100 – 110k

Job Description:

This position will play a crucial role in partnering with business representatives and members to design and implement the future state of companies data and analytics solutions


  • Partner with the business and customers to define needs and clearly document data and reporting requirements
  • Quickly understand business issues and data challenges to suggest areas of improvement while promoting standards and best practices
  • Clearly communicate analysis to help the business make better decisions
  • Review and test reports and/or result sets to ensure user requirements are met
  • Create report guides, report recordings, announcements and any other materials to help users navigate reporting solution and all of the reports it contains
  • Act as a Tier 2 support for issue resolution and addressing customer needs
  • Monitor and analyze data, identify trends, issues, opportunities and gaps as well as sift through large amounts of data and turn it into information that can be the basis of decision-making
  • Manage projects independently and assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules
  • Drive process improvements, based on analytical findings, to have a positive impact to the Company’s bottom line
  • Act as the business liaison for report developers
  • Other analytical activities as required to support future initiatives


  • 4+ years’ experience defining and documenting data and reporting requirements
  • General business knowledge (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, etc.)
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience working with large enterprise data sets (AWS experience is a plus)
  • Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment
  • Software defect/enhancement tracking system (such as ClearQuest, TFS)
  • Takes ownership of the timely delivery of work assigned at high quality standards
  • Likes change and can adapt easily to changing priorities

  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
