Data Entry Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of item master data used to support revenue tracking and reporting. This position will be responsible for maintaining manufacturer catalogs, managing product data, identifying discrepancies, and improving data management processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with large datasets.

Location: Charlotte, NC 
Opportunity Type: 6-month contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm 100% onsite
Pay/Compensation: $25.00/hour 

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain, and update manufacturer catalogs and item records in accordance with established master data standards.

  • Link distributor data with manufacturer catalog information to ensure accurate alignment of manufacturer, customer, and item-level data.

  • Analyze recurring data discrepancies, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions to improve data accuracy.

  • Utilize MS Excel databases and spreadsheets containing data to ensure the validity and accuracy of data sets. 

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of item attributes and product information.

  • Identify and correct duplicate, incomplete, or inaccurate manufacturer catalog records.

  • Prepare and present data findings, trends, and recommendations to management.

  • Support invoice and transactional reporting processes to ensure accurate data capture and reporting.

  • Respond to customer inquiries, resolve data-related issues, and manage ad hoc requests.

  • Generate, maintain, and analyze reports to monitor daily workloads and operational performance.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiencies, and increase item data capture.

  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain data integrity.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience required.

  • MUST BE PROFICIENT IN MS EXCEL (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, etc.)

  • Experience with financial analysis, trend analysis, or data reporting.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience managing product master data, catalog data, item master data, supplier/distributor data, or related data operations preferred.

  • Previous experience in distribution, foodservice, or a related industry preferred.

  • Experience interacting with suppliers, vendors, or customers preferred.
