M&R Specialist I: $50,000–$60,000 annualized pay, plus a 7% target bonus.
M&R Specialist II: $60,001–$65,000 annualized pay, plus a 10% target bonus.
About the Role: Our client is seeking a Maintenance & Repair (M&R) Specialist I or II to oversee chassis inspections, repair coordination, and equipment readiness across assigned Cleveland-area facilities. In this role, you will inspect equipment, prepare work orders, coordinate with repair vendors, and monitor repair costs and out-of-service equipment. You will work closely with logistics teams and terminal personnel to maintain safe, serviceable equipment while ensuring repairs meet company standards. Chassis or trailer inspection and repair experience is ideal.

Responsibilities:
Inspect chassis at assigned facilities and prepare work orders detailing required repairs.
Monitor maintenance and repair costs, repair estimates, and compliance with repair approval limits.
Track out-of-service equipment and maintain accurate equipment status and repair notes in the maintenance system.
Conduct daily facility visits, address maintenance concerns, and provide detailed written reports of issues to management.
Communicate inspection and repair standards to vendors and verify compliance.
Partner with repair vendors to improve productivity and reduce costs without compromising safety or service levels.
Review and submit work orders daily, resolving discrepancies with vendors.
Conduct monthly safety reviews and shop audits across assigned locations.
Monitor and resolve Driver Vehicle Examination Report (DVER) and Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) items.
Review vendor performance, duplicate repair codes, and duplicate work order reports.
Monitor company-owned spare parts and tire inventories, and coordinate with logistics teams to maintain appropriate equipment inventory levels
Prepare documentation for third-party billing and damage recovery.
Track and order chassis license plates.
Review and approve or decline applicable road service invoices; verify, code, and approve invoices up to $1,000.
Coordinate off-hire and scrap chassis programs.
Complete accurate, timely monthly accruals.
Respond to correspondence promptly, within one business day.
Qualifications:
2-5+ years of maintenance and repair experience.
Thorough knowledge of chassis or trailer repair; inspection experience is strongly preferred.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain and enforce company policies and repair standards.
Problem solver with a solution-oriented approach
Able to build effective working relationships with vendors, personnel, and internal and external customers.
Travel Requirements: 60%–80% weekly travel, primarily between assigned rail and depot locations in the Cleveland area. Daily site visits are required.
MVR Requirements: For required driving duties, candidates must have 7+ years of driving experience, with a clean driving history for the past 3+ years, and must meet the client’s driving eligibility and insurance requirements.
