Dispatch Specialist 
Location: Wyandotte, MI 48192
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour
Employment Type: Contract through January 2027, with potential for longer-term opportunity

Schedule: 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday
Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday

Initial training is expected to take place during the day shift alongside an experienced team member.

Position Summary
A leading logistics company is seeking a Dispatch Specialist to support scale-house operations at a busy industrial facility in Wyandotte, MI.

This position plays an important role in coordinating the movement of trucks and trailers throughout the facility. The Dispatch Specialist will communicate directly with truck drivers and site operators, direct trucks across the scale, verify weights, coordinate trailer movements, and maintain accurate information within dispatch and logistics systems. This is a great opportunity for someone with dispatch, transportation, logistics, customer service, or similar operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct truck drivers through the scale-house process and across the physical scale

• Weigh inbound and outbound trucks and ensure information is accurately recorded

• Coordinate truck and trailer movements throughout the facility

• Communicate directly with drivers, operators, and internal teams regarding loads and trailer locations

• Use systems such as Exotrac and SAP to complete trailer-positioning and movement transactions

• Monitor truck and trailer activity and help identify or resolve operational issues

• Maintain accurate documentation related to drivers, loads, weights, and trailer movements

• Conduct trailer checks and audits within designated areas of the facility

• Perform regular fleet and trailer scans to proactively identify discrepancies

• Provide timely follow-up and professional customer service to drivers and internal partners

• Balance multiple dispatch and scale-house responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and safety

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, warehouse operations, customer service, or a related environment

• Strong communication skills and confidence interacting directly with truck drivers and site personnel

• Comfortable learning and working within multiple computer systems

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Dependable and able to consistently work the required rotating schedule

Preferred Experience

• Previous dispatch or transportation experience

• Experience working with truck drivers, carriers, or fleet operations

• Scale-house or industrial facility experience

• Familiarity with SAP, Exotrac, AS-400, or similar logistics/transportation systems

Prior experience with these specific systems is not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
