Position Summary
Our client, a large, global commercial vehicle financial services organization with approximately 2,000 employees and a $35B financial services portfolio worldwide is searching for a dealer floor plan insurance expert to join their team in Charlotte, NC! This leader will play a key role in managing and growing a Floor Plan Insurance program for commercial vehicles, supporting a network of 400+ dealerships across the U.S. (with potential expansion into Canada in the future!) This is a highly visible individual contributor role responsible for managing existing dealer insurance programs while identifying opportunities to expand and enhance insurance offerings. The position will work closely with dealerships, insurance carriers, brokers, and internal partners to ensure dealers have appropriate coverage while supporting broader revenue and growth objectives. The role reports directly to leadership and offers the opportunity to help shape a specialized insurance program with the potential to become a model for other regions globally.

Compensation: $120,000-133,000 (possibly higher) + bonus
Location: Charlotte, NC – Ballantyne
Hybrid: 4 days per week in office

Key Responsibilities
Floor Plan Insurance Program Management
  • Manage the administration and ongoing execution of commercial vehicle Floor Plan Insurance programs.
  • Lead complex policy renewals, coordinating with dealerships, brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Service existing policies, including claims, policy additions and changes, billing, renewals, and dealer requests.
  • Track dealer inventory reviews and ensure appropriate insurance coverage is maintained.
  • Partner with insurance carriers and brokers to evaluate coverage options, negotiate terms, and develop solutions that meet dealer needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, expand, and transform the overall Floor Plan Insurance program.
Dealer Relationship Management & Growth
  • Serve as a primary insurance resource for dealerships, building strong relationships and providing ongoing support.
  • Conduct regular dealer outreach and visits to understand business needs, resolve issues, and identify opportunities.
  • Prospect and develop relationships with new dealer clients to support program growth.
  • Develop insurance solutions based on dealer needs, market conditions, and business objectives.
Operations, Compliance & Analysis
  • Oversee the efficient processing of insurance applications, claims, renewals, billing, and policy changes.
  • Monitor program performance and analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure insurance policies and practices comply with applicable federal and state regulations and internal requirements.
  • Prepare reporting on insurance program performance, sales activity, and dealer feedback for leadership.
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve processes and enhance the overall dealer experience.
Training & Program Development
  • Share insurance expertise and best practices with team members and internal partners.
  • Conduct training on insurance products, processes, and program requirements.
  • Collaborate with the broader insurance team to develop new solutions and continuously improve the Floor Plan Insurance program.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field; 8 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of insurance experience, ideally within commercial vehicle, automotive/dealership, transportation, or Floor Plan Insurance.
  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance license required.
  • Knowledge of floor plan financing and/or insurance, ideally within the commercial vehicle or automotive industry, broader dealer floor plan experience may also be considered
  • Experience managing insurance policies, including renewals, claims, billing, and policy servicing within the Commercial trucking, transportation, automotive, dealership, or captive finance industry
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, underwriting, and claims processes.
  • Experience working directly with dealerships or similar commercial clients strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with insurance carriers and brokers, including negotiating terms and developing solutions.
  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
