IT Project Manager  - PMO

Location: Hybrid in Charlotte, NC 

Duration: 1 year contract with likelihood of extension

Compensation: $55-65/hour W2

What You Will Do:
  • Lead and execute technology projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met

  • Develop comprehensive, proactive project plans that effectively communicate project scope, timeline, and objectives

  • Manage project scope changes, adjust plans accordingly, and implement contingency strategies to mitigate risks

  • Collaborate with technical teams to understand development efforts and identify success pathways, fostering seamless stakeholder engagement

  • Communicate project progress, issues, and risks clearly and regularly to relevant stakeholders and senior management

  • Prepare and present project updates, analyze potential challenges, and provide strategic recommendations

  • Facilitate cross-departmental initiatives, set clear expectations, and hold teams accountable for deliverables

  • Maintain strong relationships across organization levels, reporting issues and resolutions proactively

  • Support larger program activities by maintaining data inputs, assisting with program updates, and ensuring alignment with company strategy

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years in a PMO role

  • Proven ability to initiate, manage, and close projects successfully within scope, schedule, and budget

  • Strong proficiency with Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and SharePoint

  • Extensive experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet or equivalent

  • In-depth knowledge of internal software applications relevant to the business unit, with the capability to serve as a subject matter expert

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Certifications such as PMP, CAPM, or Agile/Scrum knowledge

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Information Technology, or related field

  • Over 5 years of project management experience, with demonstrated success managing complex projects in a corporate environment
