Project Manager - Manufacturing 

Location: Winston-Salem, NC 

Duration: Direct-Hire 

Compensation: $110,000+ 

 

The Project Manager will oversee complex manufacturing initiatives including new product introductions (NPI), upgrades to existing product lines (CPI), and cross-functional operational improvements. This position leads projects from concept through execution, coordinating across engineering, production, quality, and supply chain to deliver outcomes on time and within budget. The role requires strong leadership in a plant or factory environment and experience managing resources, timelines, and risk in physical product manufacturing settings.

 

Responsibilities: 

• Outline project objectives, resource needs, key deliverables, and target completion dates.
• Build structured plans including timelines, cost assessments, and task breakdowns.
• Design and document solutions that address all elements of the project scope.
• Communicate risks, bottlenecks, or cost escalations to leadership as they arise.
• Ensure all necessary approvals and sign-offs are secured at appropriate milestones.
• Manage execution of project plans, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
• Oversee documentation, reporting, and ongoing project updates.
• Monitor progress, resolve gaps in execution, and implement course-correction strategies.
• Facilitate active participation from stakeholders throughout project planning and execution to promote effective collaboration and shared accountability within diverse teams.
• Track and manage financials, including budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures.

 

Qualifications:

• 5+ years leading manufacturing or operations-based projects; experience with new product introduction (NPI) or continuous process improvement (CPI) highly preferred.
• PMP or equivalent credential is required.
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or science preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.
• Expertise in structured project management approaches and tools.
• Clear, effective communicator with strong facilitation and presentation abilities.
