Accounts Receivable Analyst JOB DESCRIPTION: Our transportation provider headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking an Accounts Receivable Analyst to join their team on a 6-month contract. The AR Analyst is responsible for the daily monitoring, cash application, and collections management of a designated customer portfolio. This role focuses on improving the overall health of customer accounts by engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to drive cash flow and mitigate risk through the resolution of root cause issues affecting payment. Location: Charlotte - Ballantyne – 100% onsite Duration:6-month contract Pay Rate: $21.50 / hour Shift Details: Monday - Friday; 7:00 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am - 5:00 pm RESPONSIBILITIES
Research invoices for billing accuracy; audit and collaborate with internal business partners to correct disputed invoices.
Serves as the escalation point for customer payment disputes and makes recommendations for write-offs, account adjustments and reconciliation.
Determine root cause of disputes, report process deficiencies and recommend & execute needed improvements.
Responsible for the resolution and management of outstanding invoices and delinquent accounts.
Works directly with customers to negotiate payment terms consistent with company practices. Interacts with sales support, customer service, and accounts receivable in reconciling accounts.
Audits and analyzes aging reports, tracking collection efforts and may initiate an outside collection approach for unresolved delinquent accounts.
Resolve and collect overdue account balances and payment discrepancies through research, communication and follow up with customers and/or sales teams.
Partner with leadership to make recommendations on account management strategies.
Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner; maintain departmental productivity goals.
Maintain customer contacts in collections tool.
Properly document all collection activity in the AR system.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma required, Bachelor’s preferred
1+ years of related experience in AR, billing, freight transportation, or logistics
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Solid ability to interpret contracts and research data to determine the root cause of issues.
