Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT)

Seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Information Technology to lead our IT team and drive innovation, efficiency, and adaptability across our organization. This executive will bring both visionary leadership and deep expertise in technology strategy to enable and advance our IT capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT leadership, change management, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative and adaptable workplace culture. The VP of IT will work closely with various stakeholders to assess, strategize, and implement technology solutions that align with our business objectives. Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy: Lead the IT department with a focus on innovation and organizational efficiency, setting strategic direction and ensuring alignment with company goals. Observe current processes before implementing changes to understand team dynamics and systems fully.
Enabling Business IT Capabilities: Drive the organization's IT capabilities to support business growth, streamline operations, and enhance employee productivity. Focus on leveraging the best technologies and frameworks to optimize efficiency.
Change Management: Guide the organization through technology and process transformations. Foster an adaptable culture that embraces change, manages resistance, and builds consensus across departments.
Project Guidance & Oversight: Gain familiarity with ongoing projects and provide scope and direction. Act as a guiding force in ensuring these projects stay on track and meet organizational objectives.
Budgeting & Negotiation: Oversee IT budgets and work closely with vendors. Balance cost efficiency with performance, ensuring sustainable technology investments.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work collaboratively with department heads, project leads, and the executive team to align IT strategies with business needs.
Decision Rights & Resource Allocation: Oversee allocation of IT decision rights, ensuring that resources and decision-making power are optimally distributed within the department to support efficient execution of IT projects.
Qualifications:
15-20 years of experience in executive leadership
Proven experience driving organizational change, particularly in environments where resistance to change must be managed thoughtfully.
Background in budget management and vendor negotiation, especially in software and system licensing.
Ability to balance high-level strategy with hands-off technical leadership, emphasizing team empowerment and strategic decision-making.
Exceptional communication skills, able to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
