Staff Accountant Our client, an international manufacturing company, is on the lookout for a talented Staff Accountant to be a part of this innovative team in Tampa, Florida. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for a variety of financial tasks, including cost accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, P&L reviews, payroll analyses, and more. Perform month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, conducting financial analysis, and making corrections, focusing on self-directed research and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Prepare monthly account reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and SOX controls.
Conduct monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) reviews for company locations, identifying and rectifying misstatements while effectively communicating root causes and remedies to customers.
Enhance and maintain documentation and training materials for assigned responsibilities.
Analyze variances from materials and inventory and report results.
Pull reports on payroll and analyze wages, hours, accruals, etc.
Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline processes and boost efficiency.
Engage in special ad-hoc duties and projects, showcasing your ability to take ownership and drive results.
Collaborate and support the processing of fixed asset transactions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
2+ years of accounting experience.
Strong proficiency in MS Excel, especially with Power Query.
Experience working with multiple larger ERP systems is a plus.
Cost accounting experience is preferred but not required.
