Controller | Construction
Summary
A CRG client has acquired a new business in the construction sector and is looking for a hands-on Controller to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to build the accounting department from the ground up, including hiring, training, and developing a team, creating, and improving accounting processes and procedures, etc. This person will be responsible for all accounting activities of the department including month and year end processes, job cost analysis, contract administration, accounts payable, payroll and utilities, treasury, and budgeting.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Hiring, training, and supervising accounting staff.
• Prepare and analyze job cost reports and investigate variances between actual and estimated costs.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee cash flow management strategy and serve as the primary contact for banking relationship management.
• Manage General Ledger, from positing to entry review.
• Conduct all accounts payable processing and transactions.
• Execute the month end process including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, review, etc.
• Inputs, maintains, and reviews payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions. Qualifications:
• 5+ years of Accounting experience required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent degree and/or experience.
• Experience within the construction or grading/earth-moving industry required.
• Prior management experience is preferred.
