Scrum Master
Location: Hybrid (living in one of these states: CT, DC, DE, GA, IL, KY, MD, ME, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, TN, WI, WV)
Duration: 6 months, Contract to potential hire (ending June 30th)
Pay: $65.00 - $75.00/hr.

The Scrum Master will facilitate scrum practices in the planning and execution of projects for the team. This role will work closely with product management, development team, and various departments to ensure the successful delivery of projects. This role will drive the implementation of various frameworks in order to focus on value, flow, quality, predictability, and driving continuous improvement of their teams. In addition, this role with aide team productivity by removing obstructions to the team’s goals and by preserving flexibility and the ability to rapidly respond to any changes.
RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Conduct team meetings and influences and coaches the team on Agile mindset.
  • Serves as guardian of the SAFe Agile process.
  • Drives relentless improvement efforts and minimizes outside disruptions.
  • Coordinates and facilitates Program Increment (PI) Planning and documents committed objectives, team boards and milestones.
  • Works with Product Owner to manage backlog.
  • Addresses impediments and resolves or escalates as needed.
  • Monitors progress of the team day to day, team velocity and ensures that the team stays on track.
  • Maintains team progress tool (LeanKit).
  • Enables an effective team on the train.
  • Conducts backlog refinement and iteraton planning.
  • Conducts team meetings and influences and coaches the team on Agile mindset.
  • Serves as guardian of the SAFe Agile process.
  • Drives relentless improvement efforts and minimizes outside disruptions.
  • Partner with finance, project teams, and value stream owners to ensure all financial cadences (e.g., quarterly budgeting cycles, month-end closings, etc...) are supported by and aligned to portfolio financials.
  • Coordinates and facilitates Program Increment (PI) Planning and documents committed objectives, team board and milestones.
  • Conducts daily stand ups and team retrospectives.
  • Works with Product Owner to manage the backlog.
  • Addresses impediments and resolves or escalates as needed.
  • Monitors progress of the team day to day, team velocity and ensures that the team stays on track.
  • Maintains team progress in tool.
  • Enables an effective team on the train.
  • Conducts backlog refinement and iteration planning.
  • Report progress, risk mitigation, and any updates to the initial resource, timeline, and budget plans to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in the process of balancing the interdependencies; scrum of scrums and or between projects to identify and plan for/ address these interdependencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in computer science, Business or Technical field; equivalent trainings/certifications/experience equivalency will be considered.
  • 5 or more years' experience as a scrum master or equivalent experience in relevant job or field of technology. Experience in an advanced role or process related capacity, leading teams directly or indirectly, Experience in guiding, training, or onboarding team members in relevant technologies, capabilities or skills.
  • Experience with successful Agile techniques & tools (Jira)
  • Ability to work with and lead a team.
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike.
  • Financial Acumen
  • Interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions.
  • Understands the meaning and implications of key financial indicators.
  • Uses financial analysis to generate, evaluate, and act on strategic options and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
  • Key Skills: Agile Processes and procedures (including SAFe framework, metrics, and the implementation of Agile Release Train)
NICE TO HAVE 
  • Post graduate degree advanced training and or certifications in relevant field/s of study preferred.
  • SAFe certification preferred.
  • 3 or more years' experience in Agile teams and Product/Platform based operating model. Proficiency working in and managing agile, SAFe, scrum teams (scrum of scrums), lean teams.
  • 3 or more years of experience in leading teams or advancing technical capability in teams.
  • Retail experience is a plus.
