This Lead Data Analyst will analyze data and technology to solve real customer problems in ways that meet the needs of the business. This Analyst will work with your key stakeholders and partners to understand, map, and solve problems with our data enabling the right things for our customers that deliver value to our business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guarding and maintaining the data architecture; ensuring your data is easily discoverable, addressable, trustworthy, self-describing, interoperable, secure and follows global standards
  • Being an information conduit for data, collaborating with cross functional teams (product managers, engineers, data scientists) to solve business problems
  • Communicating findings by mapping and documenting how new data fits into the ecosystem understanding the impact of changes to downstream consumption
  • Finding the root cause to anomalies and collaborate on the corrective course of action
  • Providing input and feedback into a product roadmap and overall integration of data with products considering the data lifecycle
  • Managing data with a product mindset – focus on outcomes (over outputs), problems to solve, the goals of your data and key metrics of success; as part of the team, responsible to collaboratively work together to think of a strategy that is believed to result in the best product solution for our customers
  • Collaborating with vendor technical teams – coordinating issues, new data needs or requesting enhancements
  • Being a curious data wizard with built-in curiosity that intrinsically makes you the subject matter expert
  • Being a Data Steward – guardian and maintainer of the data architecture; ensuring your data is easily discoverable, addressable, trustworthy, self-describing, interoperable, secure and follows global standards
  • Being an information conduit for data, collaborating with cross functional teams (product managers, engineers, data scientists) to solve business problems
  • Being persistent and passionate data miners – experienced in interrogating, interpreting, and effectively communicating findings by mapping and documenting how new data fits into the ecosystem
  • Understanding the impact of changes to downstream consumption
  • Finding the root cause to anomalies and collaborating on the corrective course of action
  • Providing “as-is” data insights
  • Managing data quality and measuring data fitness including investigating anomalies and defining metrics for ongoing data validation to build and maintain the trust of your consumers
  • Understanding different types of data interactions – the ways and reasons to interact from data discovery through productionizing
  • Being familiar with interpreting Data Governance, Privacy and Contracts to document guidelines around data confidentiality, security / access and use conditions
  • Providing input and feedback into a product roadmap and overall integration of data with products considering the data lifecycle

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in data virtualization techniques such as data libraries and APIs
  • Strong technical skills using SQL, PySpark, BigQuery or similar
  • Familiarity with Hadoop, Cloud (Azure), Oracle, Snowflake, or other similar technologies
  • Technical understanding of data, flow diagrams, some ability to read code and scripts
  • Ability to interpret data and communicate results to both technical and business stakeholders
  • Ability to create high level data flow diagrams for a solution and facilitate collaborative cross functional review sessions to validate feasibility of the design to achieve the anticipated value
  • Ability to guide the customers of your data in identifying business requirements, analysis, specification, and the ability to apply them in practice for implementing solutions
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Comfort with ambiguity – remains confident, positive, and resourceful in the face of ambiguity and unexpected results; recovers quickly from setbacks

  • Technical acumen – grasps the technical details to collaborate with product managers, engineers, architecture, and data scientists
  • Business acumen – grasps how the work ladders into the overall company objectives; ability to collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders, removing the technical complexities so as to be easily understood
  • 5-7 years relevant experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
