WebSphere Portal Administrator

JOB DESCRIPTION
This company is looking for an experienced WebSphere Portal Administrator to join a team of consultants and technical specialists implementing Integrated Tax Processor solutions for clients. Consultants are responsible for providing implementation support services to clients on IT consulting engagements. The primary areas of responsibility include developing and documenting new computer programs, writing, and executing unit test plans, debugging, and maintaining existing computer programs, and providing systems testing support including data preparation, scripting, and test execution. Consultants may also need to assist with selected tasks in the analysis, development and installation of IT systems including documenting system requirements, preparing technical program specifications, and writing user manuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installing, deploying, debugging, testing, and administering WebSphere portal software
• Providing enterprise-wide system and network support in a mature enterprise environment
• Troubleshooting system issues and working with client resources to resolve
• Troubleshooting of WAS environment and applications (Analyze JVM logs, Trace Logs, FFDC, native logs, java core, heap dumps)
• Installing and configuring IIS and WebSphere plugins
• Migrating WebSphere Portals between environments
• Configuring WebSphere security using AD user registry
• Assisting with the assessment of application architecture and integration of authentication/ functionality/ approach to the client environments
• Providing technical advice and guidance for WebSphere Portal developers and WebSphere Portal Administrators
• Representing the company at client meetings, technical discussions, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

• BS in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or related experience
• 1+ years relevant work experience
• Immediate authorization to work in the US
• Strong IBM WebSphere Portal version 8.5 or 9 administration skills
• Familiarity with systems/process integration, web services architecture, network architecture, and network security
• Understanding of Web and App design from end to end which involves firewall, DNA, and load balancer
• Experience with Windows operating systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Professional demeanor
• Outstanding ability to listen and really "hear" the customer
• Content Management, xml access
• Most current available IBM WebSphere Portal certification is a plus
• Position requires immediate authorization to work in the U.S.
