Project Manager - Infrastructure

 

Location: Charlotte, NC (WFH – with occasional travel to local site locations)
Duration: 12+ Month Contract plus extension (3-year project)

 

Our Retail client with over $50B in annual revenue has over 2000 stores, across 21 US states, with over 300,000 employees. This company is structured for innovation and implementing new technologies. The Executive leadership team strives for work life balance for all its employees, while also providing extensive opportunities (but not requirements!) for overtime for Contractors. There is a strong focus on keeping employees and contractors’ long term, with some contractors on 3-4+ year contract engagements, while also providing the opportunity for growth (for both employees who have converted permanent, as well as contractors)!

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide a single point of contact for multiple concurrent work streams
• Implement project management best practices, governance, process guidelines, tools and reporting templates (i.e. methodology) and train other personnel to use these tools.
• Lead cross-functional project teams, delegate project tasks and hold team accountable to deadlines.
• Follow up on project status, benefits, risks, interdependencies, timelines and, modify where needed to maximize the probability that project milestones are delivered according to plan.
• Work with management team to set and communicate specific project timelines
• Drive continuous improvement in project management process.
• Create and maintain budgeting for projects including month over month review
• Perform project tasks and supplier management and vendor management

 

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ work experience in project management and supporting Network upgrades and infrastructure builds
• Prior experience with Network Center Setup including:
  • Voice
  • Access points
  • Firewalls
  • Switches
• Must be able to setup/build project plans in MS Project
• Strong ability to drive due dates and identify risks/issues
• Agile background
• PMI/PMP certifications a plus
• Strong affinity to ask questions and dig for the best answers/solutions
• Prior experience managing projects from Initiation to Close
