Quality Engineer

Duration: 12 Months, Contract to Hire
Location: REMOTE (Post COVID onsite will be Portland, Oregon)
Pay: $50-$54/hour W2

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Building/maintaining/managing functional tests
  • Helping to maintain test data utilities
  • Conducting manual testing
  • Assisting with release process coordination
  • Authoring and managing test scenarios
  • Coordinating with end-to-end testing team to represent our domain and ensure coverage
  • Monitoring performance, watching for traffic drops related to site usability problems, and rectifying the issues
  • Reviewing application and feature codes, and planning future upgrades with the development team
  • Implementing responsible design principles to ensure that our website renders well on most devices and is accessible
  • Staying up to date on emerging technologies

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience working on large scale applications
  • Experience with native tooling (XCTest, XCode, Swift)
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience with modern libraries and tooling
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and ability to work under pressure
  • Understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
  • Ability to prioritize work and complete tasks with quick turnaround times
  • Business-minded approach to time, costs, and deadlines

BONUS POINTS

  • A solid understanding of best practices and techniques regarding web scalability, performance, and security
  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Travis
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as WebDriver I/O, Protractor, Jest and Nightwatch
