Strategic Sourcing Manager

CRG recently launched a direct hire search for a Strategic Sourcing Manager in South Charlotte.

Summary: Our client was founded in 1989 and is led by a leading Private Equity fund group. They are a growth-oriented company with revenues exceeding $750 million. Responsibilities

• Lead cross-business strategic sourcing efforts including development of requirements, competitive bid process, business case formulation, and implementation to drive multi-million-dollar savings initiatives focusing on domestic sources of supply
• Support the implementation and change management of new sources of materials
• Manage ongoing commercial relationship with strategic suppliers and assure compliance with commercial terms and conditions
• Lead development and tracking of savings KPIs and realization of supply chain business case benefits
• Establish category plans for medium and large spend commodities and implement programs to create savings and improve service levels
• Conduct supplier market research, create spend estimates and forecasts, and identify cost reduction strategies
• Lead multi-step negotiations with suppliers to secure lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) for all materials and services
• Develop category plans by working with local buyers and business unit representatives to result in positive savings contribution to business Annual Operating Plans. Category plans will include small, medium, and large spends.
• Ability to source parts that are not in stock from alternative suppliers who may be able to provide quicker than current lead times (within 48 hours)
• Lowering enterprise-wide spend and optimizing total cost
• Standardize and/or consolidate business operating requirements to enable leveraging purchasing power
• Rationalize the supply base and foster better supplier relationships
• Optimize business processes, improve workflow and data management
• Improve teamwork and strategic sourcing skills (“best of the best”)
• Focus on high savings potential activities ($100K>)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business
• 5 years of strategic sourcing experience in materials, hydraulic systems and components, electrical motors and controls, and metal machining & fabrication preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Strategic Sourcing Process (5 Step or 7 Step process)
• Excellent data analytical skills with mastery of Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize new ERP systems
• Excellent leadership skills including leading though influence
• Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and shop floor employees
• Strong sense of urgency and drive
• Comfortable with ambiguity and strong creative skills for creating new processes and approaches
• Ability to flex on short notice to provide leadership and options in a manufacturing environment
