Job Description:
Join the Enterprise Data Stewardship team. We are helping to rethink how we use data to fulfill the needs of our customers (both internal and external). As a Senior Data Steward, you will have an opportunity to be a part of implementing the enterprise-wide Stewardship framework, processes, procedures, and guidelines for the company. This position requires significant amount of collaboration across all business areas within the company and will be essential to building out an enterprise-wide sustainable Data Stewardship program.
Data stewardship is a functional role in data management and governance, with responsibility for ensuring that data policies and standards turn into practice within the steward’s domain. Data stewards assist the enterprise in leveraging domain data assets to its fullest capacity. The role fosters a sense of security and trust in the Master Data for the Enterprise, as the data stewardship program builds a more data-focused culture and advocate for the proper use of and attention to data.
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for on-going data setup and maintenance for Enterprise Master Data. In addition, this position will act as a team lead/coordinator for domain specific priorities, processes, and programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides ongoing support for Master Data setup, maintenance, and data quality.
- Setting up all data within STEP MDM tool, that are required for setting up new entities
- Setting up new address book records as it relates to Vendor parties and entities
- This includes Address Book Mass Download/Upload
- Clerical review for matching and merging issues, Golden record validation, and approval of the records and data in STEP.
- Running reports and correcting data quality issues within STEP – completeness and correctness
- Running Data Integrity processes as related to system updates - Daily, Weekly & Monthly
- Ensuring Metadata for attributes with the domain are accurate and reflect proper standards, definitions, and business rules
- Data and Quality Assurance Reporting using Tableau, Power BI or Excel
- Data and Business Logic validation
- Optimize workflows and communication
- Go-to expert for the company with anything in the realm of Master Data; responsible for assuring quality and trust in the Master Data, creating standard definitions for the organization to follow, and maintaining a consistent use of data resources across the organization
- Trusted resource who keeps the company adhering to the ever-changing set of data laws locally, regionally, and nationally to avoid penalties or fines
- Advocates and thought leader of data, educating employees, and keeping a pulse on new best practices and technology
- Organizing and managing team folders in MS Teams
- Setting weekly priorities and monitoring applicable progress
- Provide on-going support for Master Data as it relates to Master Data Stewardship
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to resolved data conflicts and process issues
Functional / Technical Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in data management, with at least 3 years of experience deploying enterprise-wide Data Stewardship programs
- Experience with STEP by Stibo or other MDM related platforms
- Strong Excel Skills and Analytical capabilities
- Data and Reporting Quality Assurance – Tableau or Power BI
- SQL skills – nice to have
- Proven ability to work across multiple organizations to accomplish diverse goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively communicate with both business and technical development teams
- Data and Business Logic validation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business and technology stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
