Location: Hybrid - Charlotte, NC candidates (onsite Tues-Thurs)
Duration: 6 months contract-to-hire
Pay: $52.00+ hourly

The Sr. Functional Analyst – eCommerce supports the delivery and operation of the organization's digital commerce platform. This role partners with Product Management, Development, QA, and technology teams to gather requirements, support backlog refinement, coordinate testing activities, maintain platform configurations, and assist with ongoing platform enhancements.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with technical curiosity, flexibility, and adaptability within a small, highly collaborative product team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Business & Functional Analysis
  • Partner with Product Management, business subject matter experts, and technology teams to understand business processes, user needs, and system requirements.
  • Gather, document, and refine business, functional, and system requirements.
  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, use cases, and supporting documentation.
  • Translate business requirements into solution designs in partnership with Product Management, Architecture, and Development teams.
  • Support backlog refinement activities and ensure stories are sufficiently detailed for development and testing.
  • Function as a liaison between Product Management and technical resources to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Ensure standards are maintained related to requirements documentation and project deliverables.
Product Delivery & Operational Support
  • Support backlog management, sprint planning, release preparation, and delivery coordination activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management to maintain a healthy and prioritized backlog.
  • Track dependencies, risks, action items, and follow-up activities across initiatives.
  • Support communication and coordination among development teams, QA, internal technology teams, business participants, and external partners.
  • Assist with release readiness, production validation, and post-release support activities.
  • Assist with website configuration, catalog management, and content administration activities as needed.
  • Document platform configurations, business processes, and operational procedures.
  • Support issue triage and troubleshooting efforts, partnering with development and support teams to investigate and resolve issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Functional Analysis, Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Product Support, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
  • Experience working with software development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple or conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • General understanding of application architecture, integrations, and system functionality.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting B2B or enterprise eCommerce platforms. Experience with OroCommerce administration, configuration, or support is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
  • Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), release management, and production support activities.
  • Technical curiosity and willingness to learn platform administration and configuration.
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skills, including the ability to query data, validate business requirements, support troubleshooting efforts, and analyze system behavior.
