Interim IT Financial Analyst
Location: Charlotte, NC (Southwest)
Schedule: Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 remote
Opportunity: Short-Term Contract (~6 weeks)

Summary: CRG is launching a search for an IT Financial Analyst on a short-term basis for a logistics company in southwest Charlotte. In this role, you will lead technology spend reporting and cost modeling responsibilities in the FP&A group, closely partnering with IT and business leaders to improve cost tracking visibility, deliver timely insights, and drive decision-making. You will support IT investment decisions in an environment where annual tech spend has scaled rapidly.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary FP&A finance liaison supporting the IT organization
  • Lead development of the annual IT budget, incorporating labor, software, systems, and external development costs
  • Establish and manage KPIs and cost drivers to inform accurate project forecasting
  • Support oversight of IT development initiatives through data-driven financial modeling and performance tracking
  • Assess and rigorously review investment requests, providing strong financial rationale for capital approvals
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to estimate costs for scrum teams and development efforts
  • Perform monthly variance reporting and scenario analysis for key IT programs
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, IT, and business leaders to enhance cost visibility, allocation methodologies, and spending controls
  • Engage with the capital committee and executive leadership regarding IT budget planning and governance
  • Prepare and present clear, data-focused materials (charts, graphs, tables) for senior leaders, outlining key drivers, business impact, and recommendations
  • Optimize and expand use of tools such as Cognos, Oracle ERP, Excel, and SQL to improve reporting efficiency, automate workflows, and minimize manual processes

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or similar discipline
  • 5+ years of corporate finance / FP&A experience supporting IT or product development groups
  • Proven ability to model complex, project-based costs for IT projects
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with technical leaders and hold stakeholders accountable
  • Familiarity with agile team roles, project scoping, and capital planning workflows
  • Ability to pull/validate data and improve reporting pipelines in SQL is preferred
