Technical Project Manager
Location: Remote
Duration: 6-month contract (high likelihood of extension)
Compensation: $65-70/hour W2

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead infrastructure, network, and system hardening initiatives across a large-scale retail environment. The TPM will coordinate cross-functional teams in IT, security, and business operations to ensure the stability, scalability, and compliance of enterprise systems. This role requires strong project governance, Agile delivery experience, and the ability to manage timelines and budgets in a complex, distributed organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and security-focused initiatives, including system hardening, network upgrades, and cloud environment standardization.

  • Collaborate with security engineers, network administrators, and cloud teams to ensure all systems meet compliance and performance benchmarks.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring alignment with strategic IT and business priorities.

  • Manage Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and track progress in Jira.

  • Coordinate patching, configuration, and vulnerability remediation cycles across multiple environments.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and executive leadership.

  • Identify project risks, mitigation strategies, and dependencies affecting delivery timelines.

  • Support change management and communication around infrastructure or security improvements.

  • Produce executive-level dashboards, KPIs, and financial tracking for leadership reporting.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience managing technical infrastructure or security-related projects within enterprise environments.

  • Strong understanding of system hardening, network architecture, and infrastructure lifecycle management.

  • Proven success leading Agile teams and using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Project.

  • Solid experience with budget planning, cost tracking, and forecasting for multi-million-dollar initiatives.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), firewall management, and compliance standards (CIS, NIST, PCI, or SOC 2).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (PMP or CSM preferred).
