Data Center Technical Services Specialist
Location: Charlotte, NC (The associates will work 3 days @ 36 hours one week and then 4 days @ 48 hours the following week.  The expectation is that the associate will be at the office due to some job responsibilities that must take place at the office.)
Shift: 7am – 7pm
Duration: 3-month contract w/ potential to hire
Pay: $18-20 per hour

The Data Center Technical Services Specialist position is responsible for systems support, monitoring, maintenance, and problem escalation for systems, applications, and networks that are a part of this company’s core infrastructure. The Technical Services Specialist works as a member of the User Support Services team and is charged with understanding the goals/objectives of that team and how it supports those of the Enterprise Architecture & Shared Services Technology team


RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Set up system and service monitoring according to established standards and processes.
  • Monitor systems, service statuses, scheduled jobs, and scripts in real time, logging incidents and alerts per defined standards.
  • Provide Tier 1 support, troubleshooting, and escalate issues as needed following escalation protocols.
  • Communicate shift logs to stakeholders and ensure smooth handoff at shift changes.
  • Manage and execute job actions, including starting, stopping, pausing, and forecasting job schedules.
  • Print weekly and off-cycle checks, adhering to payroll processing standards.
  • Provide after-hours support, conduct Data Center walk-throughs, and ensure security and system integrity.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and end users to understand project requirements and recommend sustainable solutions.
  • Actively identify opportunities to automate manual processes and enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Build trust through open communication and problem-solving across teams.
  • Independently manage tasks, align work with team priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, update project statuses, and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings, contribute to strategic planning, and promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure project security and continuity, identifying risks and providing technical expertise to maintain operational reliability.
  • Acknowledge and resolve support tickets efficiently, providing timely updates and escalating issues as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Typically, 1-5 years of experience
  • Data Center and/or Network Operations Center.
  • Monitoring tools such as AlertBot, SolarWinds, Splunk, Zabbix.
  • Job scheduling tools such as UC4 and SAP
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
