Assurance Associate
One of the largest local CPA firms in the Triad area, established over 70 years ago, prides themselves on offering more than traditional accounting services. They are led by experienced partners who lead and support the professional staff to develop innovative and practical solutions to today’s business and tax problems. They are seeking an Assurance Associate who will be responsible for working closely with clients to review financial statements and prepare federal and state tax provisions.
Compensation: $50,000 - $70,000, based on experience
Location: Winston-Salem, NC – Hybrid Schedule
Job Duties:

• Coordinate the review or compilation of all required financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables to meet and exceed client expectations.
• Utilize and understand PPC audit methodology.
• Substantive testing and analytical review procedures as well as documentation of internal control systems.
• Prepare control deficiency and compliance letters, with an eye on thoroughness and accuracy.
• Utilize cloud-based engagement software to prepare engagement workpapers.
• Identify and communicate necessary accounting and auditing matters to the team and Partner.
• Prepare federal and state returns for individuals and businesses.
• Calculate federal and state tax provisions.
• Research tax questions to resolve minor issues to the best advantage of the client as allowed by tax code.
• Identify opportunities for additional services or services that may suit clients.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or taxation or equivalent.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in a public accounting environment.
• Proven record of interacting with clients.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
